ELECTIONS COMPLAINTS BUREAU ESTABLISHED FOR THE 2026 LOCAL COUNCIL ELECTION AND WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE ELECTION 2026.

The Elections Commission has established a dedicated Elections Complaints Bureau to facilitate the submission and timely resolution of issues related to the Local Council Election and Women’s Development Committee Election 2026. 

 

The Bureau aims to provide voters, candidates, political parties, and other stakeholders with an accessible, transparent, and efficient mechanism to submit election-related complaints and concerns.

 

Complaint forms are available through multiple channels, including the Elections Commission’s official website, the Commission’s service counters, the Elections Commission Main Building, the Election Centre (former Driug Court premises), and designated focal points established across cities, atolls, islands, and overseas, ensuring convenient access nationwide and abroad.

 

The Bureau will operate daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and on Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • In person at the Commission’s service counters, the Elections Commission Main Building, the Election Centre, or designated focal points during official operating hours

The Local Council Election and Women’s Development Committee Election are scheduled to be held on 4 April 2026. The Commission encourages all stakeholders to make use of these established mechanisms to support a transparent, fair, and orderly electoral process.
